Full Itinerary

Almost every part of this tour has been tailored to ensure you disturb your beautiful and magical surroundings as little as possible which means there will be nothing to break your immersion. You will be surrounded by the peaceful white winter wonderland landscape that Finnish Lapland is known for and when you go out to explore you will do so in silence on snowshoes or new electric snowmobiles that let you speed through the wilderness in near silence undisturbed by loud engine sounds. Everything will be so calm and quiet you could even hear an elf whisper.

Day 1:  ROVANIEMI
After arriving at Rovaniemi Airport you will be transferred to your accommodation at the Arctic Circle Wilderness Lodge. The lodge is surrounded by the beautiful streams of the Raudanjoki River and lush forest. What remains of the day will be at your leisure. Your accommodation for the next few nights will be in the panorama design huts whose construction materials are inspired by their surroundings letting you feel like you are outside without compromising on the warmth and comfort you would expect from a hotel a room.

Day 2:  ROVANIEMI
The daytime hours will be at your leisure. There are numerous activities you could pre-book to fill your time like a husky safari or perhaps a reindeer safari or you could simply explore your beautiful surroundings and walk through the lovely deep forest that surrounds the lodge fully immersing yourself in the winter fairytale environment. Alternatively you could spend your day with the other highlight Rovaniemi is known for, Santa Claus, with his official home being just a short transfer away at Santa Claus Village where you could find even more to do. In the evening after dinner you will be picked up and taken out into the wilderness. It is time to hunt for the Northern Lights using what was and still is one of the simplest ways of getting around in the land of snow, snowshoes. Quietly make your way through the beautiful Lappish forest being guided by the moonlight as you search for a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis. Thereafter you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Day 3: ROVANIEMI
Today will be entirely at your leisure. As may have become apparent from your list of choices yesterday there is much you can see and do in Rovaniemi and surroundings so you will surely have no problem finding something to do. Alternatively, you could simply slow down and relax back at the lodge and truly enjoy the peace and quiet surrounding you far away from the noise and hustle and bustle of daily life.

Day 4:  ROVANIEMI
In the morning you will be transferred from the Arctic Circle Lodge to the Arctic Snowhotel. Tonight you will be sleeping under the open stars but still warm and snug shielded from the cold outside in a glass igloo. Perhaps you might even be able to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights as you drift off to sleep. But before your head meets pillow there it still much more to be done today. You will go on a 2-hour snowmobile safari but this will not be your usual noisy charge through the wilderness because you will be using electric snowmobiles letting you speed through the wilderness in near silence. During the safari you will make a few stops along the way and be able to enjoy beautiful views of a local lake. After the tour a delicious salmon dinner will be served in a typical Lappish Kota hut and thereafter you will get to explore the Snowhotel structure itself safe in the knowledge that your own night will be much warmer than that of those residing within its walls.

After breakfast you will be transferred from the hotel to the airport.  (B)
