Full Itinerary

Saturday:  CASABLANCA
After arrival as Casablanca Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. During the transfer the representative will give you a brief overview of your upcoming Moroccan adventure. What remains of the day after check-in at the hotel will be at your leisure.
Overnight:  Casablanca (D)

Sunday:  CASABLANCA – TANGIER
This morning you will go on an excursion exploring Casablanca, Morocco’s economic capital. Among the highlights you will see during the excursion are the central market, Mohamed V Square, the residential area of Anfa and exterior of the impressive Hassan II Mosque. Thereafter you will travel to Rabat where you will again go on a city tour during which you will see highlights like the Royal Palace, Hassan Tower, Mohamed V Mausoleum and the Oudaya Kasbah. You will have some time at leisure to grab lunch a local restaurant (not included) before the tour continues to Tangier where you will again go on a small orientation tour of the Medina.

Monday:  TANGIER – CHEFCHAOUNEN – VOLUBILIS – FEZ
You will start the day with a short orientation tour of Tangier before continuing to Chefchaounen, a beautiful blue and wish washed Andalucian town nestled in the Rif Mountains. There will be some leisure time during which you could grab lunch (not included) before enjoying a walking tour through Chefchaounen’s cobbled medina as you absorb the Moorish and Spanish atmosphere. Thereafter continue to Fez, the day’s final destination. Along the way you will explore the excavated ruins of Roman Volubilis and make a quick stop at Moulay Idriss Zehoun, a small town perched atop a hill.

Tuesday:  FEZ
Fez is one of Morocco’s most important cities being the spiritual capital of the country which means there is enough to see and do here to take a whole day. You will explore the city and see the medieval Medina with its Attarine and Bou Anania Medersas, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum and the Karaouine mosque. In the afternoon you will then visit Fez Jdid.

Wednesday:  FEZ – MIDELT – ERFOUD – MERZOUGA
You will depart for Erfoud in the morning travelling via Ifrane, a delightful ski resort, and Azrou which is a nice Berber village known for its handcrafted goods. Then travel to Midelt, another Berber village known for mining. After some leisure time during which you could grab lunch (not included) then journey to Erfoud will continue via Errachidia and the blue waterfalls of Meski. From Erfoud you will continue to Merzouga where you will be spending the night in berber tents for authentic yet comfortable desert experience.

THURSDAY:  MERZOUGA – ERFOUD – TINGHIR – OUARZAZATE
Early in the morning, before breakfast even, you will be able to join a walk over the sands of the Merzouga dune. After breakfast the journey then continues to Rissani, the holy city where Moulay Ali Cherif, the originator of the Alaouite dynasty, is buried. A 17th century Kasbah will be visited and then the trip continues to Tinghir via the Tinjdad road. You will visit the magnificent Todgha Canyon which extends 250m into the sky. From there the journey will continue into the region of the roses, often also called the road of Kasbahs due to the many Kasbahs found along it. The route will cross the High Atlas Mountains and take you to the valley of Dades. Continue from there to Skoura travelling via Klaa Me Gouna, the Kasbah where you will find more rose orchards than palm trees as the local specialty is the manufacture of perfumes. Thereafter you will arrive in Ouarzazate.

Friday:  OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH
Today you will visit Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the south of Morocco and which is under UNESCO protection. It is also arguably Morocco’s most famous Kasbah and one you are likely to have seen glimpses of already as it serves as frequent film set having been seen in classics like “Lawrence of Arabia” or the “Jewel of the Nile” and many others over the years. From there continue to Marrakech via picturesque scenery and numerous beautiful fortified Berber villages crossing the Tiz n Tichka pass before arriving in Marrakech.

Saturday:  MARRAKECH
The morning will be spent exploring historical Marrakech during which you will get to see highlights like Majorelle Garden, Bahia Palace and the Koutoubia Minaret. No visit to Marrakech or indeed Morocco itself would be complete without visiting the famous Djemaa El Fna square with its souks and handicraft quarters, which is what the afternoon will be dedicated to.

Sunday:  MARRAKECH – CASABLANCA
You will still have the majority of the morning at leisure in Marrakech, perhaps you could pop back to the square and grab that souvenir you were not sure about yesterday.  It would also be a good idea to grab some lunch (not included) before you start on the return leg to Casablanca where your Moroccan adventure began.

Monday:  CASABLANCA
After breakfast your tour will have come to an end and you will be transferred to Casablanca Airport.  (B)
