Full Itinerary
Day 1: CAIRO – ALEXANDRIA
You will leave Cairo and travel 221km northwest to the second largest city in Egypt along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Alexandria. Alexandria is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Mediterranean”. Founded by Alexander the Great in approx. 331BC, it was the centre of learning in the ancient world. You will visit the Greek Roman Museum and the Catacombs, one of the largest Roman cemeteries. It consists of three levels and is cut in the rock to a depth of 100 feet. Thereafter you will visit Qait Bay Citadel.
Overnight: Alexandria
Day 2: ALEXANDRIA – CAIRO
This morning you will visit the Roman Theatre, a well-preserved theatre with galleries, sections of mosaic-flooring and marble seats for up to 800 spectators. Then the tour will continue to Montazah Palace. (An optional extension to El Alamein to see World War II Cemeteries can be arranged at an additional cost).
Thereafter you will return to Cairo. (B)
