Full Itinerary

Saturday:  LUXOR – NILE CRUISER – KARNAK & LUXOR TEMPLES
You will be transferred from the hotel or airport to your Nile Cruiser. After lunch visit Karnak Temple, a complex dedicated to Amun Ra. Its impressive features are probably the most overwhelming of all the Egyptian monuments. Then visit the Luxor Temple discovered beneath the shifting desert sands.
Overnight:  Nile Cruiser  (LD)

Sunday:  LUXOR – WEST BANK – VALLEY OF THE KINGS – ESNA
To start the day you will travel by coach to the West Bank and visit Thebes Necropolis and the Valley of Kings, a vast City of the Dead for generations of Pharaohs, where magnificent tombs were carved into the desert rocks, richly decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife. Unfortunately very few of the rock-cut tombs escaped grave robbers during ancient times and most were ruined. The most famous of the sixty-two tombs is the tomb of Tut-Ankh-Amun unearthed by Howard Carter. Then continue to Deir al-Bahri where the Temple of Hatshepsut was built for the only woman who ruled Egypt. Then see the Colossi of Memnon; it is all that remains of the Temple of Amenophis which was destroyed by the annual flooding of the Nile. The cruise continues to Esna, crosses the lock and continues to Edfu.
Overnight:  Nile Cruiser  (BLD)

Monday:  EDFU – KOM OMBO – ASWAN
This morning you will take a horse-drawn carriage to Edfu, a famous well-preserved ancient Greek-built temple. You will see Horus Temple dedicated to the falcon God which was built on a rise to escape the annual flooding of the Nile. Then cruise to KomOmbo and visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris, dedicated to the crocodile god and the falcon-headed god. Thereafter continue to Aswan.
Overnight:  Nile Cruiser  (BLD)

Tuesday:  HIGH DAM – PHILAE TEMPLE
In the morning you will visit the High Dam, a huge rock-fill dam, which captures the world’s longest river. Then travel by motorboat to Agilkia Island and visit the reassembled Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. The temple has a majestic aura, particularly at sunset when it turns to gold. Thereafter the cruise ends and you will be transferred to the airport. (B)
