Full Itinerary
Monday: Tel Aviv – Caesarea – Megiddo – Haifa – Galilee
Depart from Tel Aviv and drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, which was the capital city of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the crusader city and the Roman theatre and aqueduct. From there you will continue to Muhraka, the site of the confrontation between Elijah and the prophets of Baal. The site offers spectacular views of the Jezreel valley and lower Galilee. Then continue to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon. Visit the archaeological excavations including the well-preserved water supply system. The tour’s final stop before you reach the night’s lodging will be at Acre. Visit the remarkable underground Crusader City and crypt, then walk through the Old City recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the local market and the harbour before departing Acre.
Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi (LD)
Tuesday: Tiberias – Sea of Galilee – Capernaum – Tagbha – Mount of Beatitudes – Banias – Golan Heights
After a short tour of Tiberias, you take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit the Yigal Alon museum where the “Jesus boat”, an ancient fishing boat from the 1st century, is displayed. Continue to Capernaum where you will visit the remains of the 2nd century synagogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the miracle of fish and loaves, and visit the church of multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Continue to the Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights. Thereafter you will return to the hotel.
Overnight: Kibbutz Lavi (BD)
Wednesday: Galilee – Nazareth – Beit Shean – Jerusalem
Drive to Nazareth via Cana of Galilee. Before reaching Nazareth you will stop and visit the Wedding Church where Jesus performed his first miracle turning water into wine. Then continue to Nazareth and visit the church of Annunciation, St. Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site on the Jordan River. Continue again to Beit Shean, a newly excavated Roman city and amphitheater. Drive along the Jordan River to Jerusalem where the tour ends. (B)
