Depart from your Eilat hotel at approximately 07h00 and drive to the border. After crossing the border, drive to Petra along the desert highway. The astonishing rose-red city of Petra was built by the Nabateans (an early Arab Tribe) who settled in southern Jordan more than two thousand years ago. The visit begins with a horseback-ride (or walk) for about 700 meters to the entrance of the “Siq”. Then continue through the Siq on foot (approximately 1.2 km walking distance). Petra is famous for its huge monuments such as the Treasury, Royal Tombs, the Court, Roman   Theatre, Roman Street, Qassier El – Bint (Palace of the Pharaoh’s daughter) and many other smaller monuments. After the visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and drive back to the Border. A quick stop will be made in Aqaba before returning to Eilat where you will arrive at approximately 18h00.  (L)
