Luggage handling costs are not included and must be paid directly on the spot. • Dress code for dinner in Sorrento is smart (jacket for men). • “Grotta Azzurra” (Blue Grotto) visit is weather dependent. |
Full Itinerary
DAY 1: ROME
On arrival at Rome Airport you will be transferred to the hotel. What remains of the day thereafter will be at your leisure.
Overnight: Rome
DAY 2: NAPLES – POMPEII – SORRENTO
Depart Rome (pick-up between 06h30 and 07h30) and travel via the “Highway of the Sun” to Naples. Along the way see vineyards, palaces, fishing villages and ancient fortresses. Near the halfway point of the trip to Naples you will catch a glimpse of the Abbey of Montecassino. This abbey is famous for being completely destroyed during World War II and its exact reconstruction since then. In Naples you will go on a short panoramic tour Vomero hill to enjoy beautiful views over the gulf of Naples including Vesuvius, Capri, Ishia and Procida as well as the city below. You will then descend towards the port of Mergelina and leave the city. Then travel to Pompeii, the famous Greek-Roman city that was completely buried under ash during a massive eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79AD. The excavations started in 1748 and still continue today. After lunch, which will feature a real Neopolitan Pizza, you will visit these excavations and take a tour that will last approximately 2 hours. Thereafter drive to Sorrento along one of the most panoramic portions of the coastline near Sorrento.
Overnight: Sorrento (BLD)
DAY 3: ISLE OF CAPRI – ANACAPRI – NAPLES – ROME
Transfer to the port of Sorrento to board a hydrofoil to Capri. Arrive at Marina Grande and change over to a motorboat that will take you to the Blue Grotto (weather conditions permitting). Then return to the marina to take a panoramic tour of the island. In the highest village on the island, Anacapri, you will have a lovely panoramic view of the Bay of Naples. Lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer back to the marina where you board a hydrofoil back to Naples. Then in Naples board a bus that will take you back to Rome where you will arrive at approximately 21h00.

DAY 4: ROME
After breakfast you will be transferred to Rome Airport. (B)
