Full Itinerary

DAY 1: ATHENS
Arrive Athens and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day is at leisure.

DAY 2: ATHENS
After breakfast, begin your tour starting with a visit to the Panathenaic Stadium, where the inaugural Olympic Games of the modern era took place in 1896. Pass by the former Royal Palace, now serving as the Prime Minister’s Residence, and catch sights of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier. Continue to landmarks such as the Academy, the University, National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma Square). Explore the Acropolis, discovering the architectural masterpieces of Athens’ Golden Age, including the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the iconic Parthenon. Conclude your tour with a visit to the New Acropolis Museum, a significant archaeological institution housing numerous historic statues. In the afternoon, join a tour to Cape Sounion. Travel along the coastal road, passing by the beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza, until you reach the southernmost point of Attica. Marvel at the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon.

DAY 3: ATHENS – CORINTH CANAL – EPIDAURUS – MYCENAE – OLYMPIA
Leave Athens behind and head to the strategically Corinth canal (short stop). Continue to Epidaurus and visit the majestic Ancient theatre, world famous for its outstanding acoustics. Proceed to the beautiful seaport town of Nauplia (short stop) and through the plain of Argos arrive to Myceane. Visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Learn about the classical Greek culture as you walk through this impressive archaeological site. In the afternoon depart for Olympia, the birth place of the Olympic Games.

DAY 4: OLYMPIA – DELPHI
After breakfast, visit the impressive archaeological site of Olympia. Marvel at the Temple of Zeus, the altar of the Olympic flame, the Stadium and the archaeological Museum. Depart via Patras to Rion, cross the Corinthian bay by the famous bridge to Antirion. Pass by the city of Nafpaktos and from there on, along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. In the afternoon visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova.

DAY 5: DELPHI – KALAMBAKA
Visit the archaeological site of Delphi, one of the most important archaeological treasures, also listed as a UNESCO world Heritage site. Continue to Kalambaka via Central Greece.

DAY 6: KALAMBAKA – METEORA – ATHENS
Today, explore one of Greece’s most picturesque regions, Meteora. The timeless monasteries, housing invaluable historical and religious artifacts, perch between earth and sky on colossal granite rocks. Later, depart for Athens, making a stop at the heroic monument of Leonidas, the King of Sparta, in Thermopylae along the way.

DAY 7: ATHENS
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Athens Airport. (B)
