Full Itinerary
Day 1: MYKONOS
On arrival at Mykonos airport (or port), you will be transferred to your hotel.
Overnight: Mykonos
Day 2: MYKONOS
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the port for your organized tour to Delos. Sail to the small island of Delos on a caique (a small Mediterranean sailing boat). The island may be small but it is home to numerous impressive monuments and is heralded as the birthplace of the Greek gods Apollo and Artemis. Due to its religious significance, a decision was made to purify the island and all remains of the dead were removed from it. It was also decided that from then on no one should be born or die on the island so that no one tried to claim it as an inheritance. As a result of this, the island had no indigenous community and ended up uninhabited, unlike the other important Cycladic islands. Return from your excursion to Delos back to the hotel on Mykonos and then you will have the rest of the day at leisure.
Overnight: Mykonos (B)
Day 3: MYKONOS
Today you will be free to discover and enjoy the highlights of Mykonos at your leisure. Enjoy the beach, the sun and the fun of this unique island. One of the most famous destinations worldwide and a favourite holiday spot of the jet set, Mykonos is extremely beautiful and well known for its bare hills, the amazing sandy beaches, the white country chapels and the Cycladic architecture.
Overnight: Mykonos (B)
Day 4: MYKONOS – PAROS
You will be collected at your hotel and transferred to the port, for the ferry to Paros. After arriving on Paros, and being transferred to the hotel, the rest of your day will be at leisure.
Overnight: Paros (B)
Day 5: PAROS
Today you will spend some time on a sailing excursion around some of the smaller islands near Paros. You will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to another caique which departs Paros at approximately 10h15. After a while, the cruise will stop at some calm blue waters allowing people the chance to go for a swim. As the cruise continues to the island of Despotiko another swim stop will be made. Despotiko boasts over 4000 years of history and is where you will be served a delicious barbeque lunch. One of the highlights of the cruise will be Mastichari cave where a final stop for swimming will be made before returning to Paros. On arrival, you will be transferred back to the hotel on arrival.
Overnight: Paros (BL)
Day 6: PAROS
Unrivalled natural beauty, beaches of crystal clear waters, “unique” Byzantine footpaths connecting traditional villages and breath-taking landscapes make Paros, located at the heart of the Cyclades, one of the most beloved holiday destinations in Greece. The day will be at your leisure and it is highly recommended to visit Naoussa village, together with the nearby Kolymbithres beach as this is one of the most beautiful parts of Paros.
Overnight: Paros (B)
Day 7: PAROS – NAXOS
You will be collected at your hotel and transferred to the port, for your ferry to Naxos. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel and have the rest of the day you at your leisure.
Overnight: Naxos (B)
Day 8 & 9: NAXOS
Naxos is the biggest and the greenest island in the Cyclades chain with impressively high mountains, fertile valleys, lush green gorges, stunning seascapes and traditional villages perched high on mountain tops, where the inhabitants still wear their traditional dress and live off the fruits of the land. Naxos is also an island of beautiful old churches, monasteries and Venetian castles coexisting harmoniously with Cycladic cubic houses.
Overnight: Naxos (B)
Day 10: NAXOS – SANTORINI
You will be collected at your hotel and transferred to the port, for your ferry to Santorini. On arrival on Santorini, transfer to your hotel.
Overnight: Santorini (B)
Day 11: SANTORINI
Today you will be going on a full day organized tour that will visit the Volcano, some hot springs, Thirassia, and end with a view of the sunset on Oia. After being picked up from one of the designated pick-up points (information to be provided the night before) and transferred to Athinios port you will start this tour sailing on the tour’s final caique. The first stop is on the islet of Nea Kameni which is the Volcano of Santorini itself. You will have an opportunity to climb to the top of the crater of this active but currently dormant Volcano (entrance fee not included). Next sail to Palea Kameni, home to some natural hot springs formed by the numerous volcanic eruptions in the area over the centuries. A short stop will be made allowing for an opportunity to go for a swim in the warm yellow-green waters which are claimed to have healing properties. Then dock at Thirassia, the second largest island of the Caldera opposite Santorini but much quieter unaffected by the large number of tourists. On your return to Santorini, you will arrive at Ammoudi from where stairs lead up to Oia village (transport by donkey possible). Explore the traditional settlement of Oia with its unique blend of large Venetian houses and small cave homes before ending the tour viewing the famous sunset. After enjoying the sunset you will return to your hotel.
Overnight: Santorini (B)
Day 12: SANTORINI
There is a lot to see on the volcanic paradise in the Cyclades that is Santorini, and today you will be entirely at leisure to do so. Cousteau looked for the lost city of Atlantis on Santorini. The present-day shape of the island is a consequence of the activity of the volcano in prehistoric times feeding the myth of the lost Atlantis. Santorini is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion dating back 3,600 years and which created the current geological caldera and some of the surrounding islands. Crescent-shaped Santorini (or Thíra), the precious gem of the Aegean, is actually a group of islands consisting of Thíra, Thirassiá, Asproníssi, Palea and Nea Kaméni in the southernmost part of Cyclades.
There is much left to see. One could walk the busy streets of Fira, Santorini’s capital, or visit Pyrgos offering the best panoramic view of the island. Or discover what any of the numerous smaller settlements still has to offer as you wander their narrow cobblestone streets and admire the little white chapels, the cave white houses and the blue windows which have come to act as romantic symbols of the island.
Overnight: Santorini (B)
Day 13: SANTORINI
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Santorini Airport. (B)
