Drive to Nkambeni Tented Camp, located in the Kruger Park. This is a community-owned lodge located in the Kruger Park. Accommodation is in luxurious “East-African” style safari tents with private bathrooms and a small deck in front of your tent. At sunset, set off on a ‘sundowner drive’ where we hope to see some of the shy, nocturnal animals. We stop for drinks (included) before returning to camp for dinner. Estimated driving time (excluding stops):

• from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport: ˝ hour.

• from Johannesburg: 5 hours.

Dinner and overnight: Nkambeni Tented Camp. (D)

Day 2
Rising with the sun, set off on a full day’s game-drive in the Kruger Park. Our game drive takes us through “Big 5” territory where anything can be expected! Sunrise at a waterhole sometimes offer the viewer scenes which belong in a “National Geographic”. The entire day is spent game viewing, bird-watching and stopping off at the various waterholes en route. We also stop for a picnic lunch. After an awesome day’s game viewing we return to camp. Enjoy relaxed ‘bushveld’ cooking as we gaze at the stars and listen to the sounds of the African night.
Dinner and overnight: Nkambeni Tented Camp. (B,L,D)

Day 3
You may like to use your own rental car and explore the Kruger Park on your own. Alternatively, you can book further optional game drives at your camp.
Dinner and overnight: Nkambeni Tented Camp. (B,D)

Day 4
Option a) Check out after breakfast and drive back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport OR Johannesburg International Airport. Hand back your rental car prior to flight departure. (B)

Day 4
Option b) Drive a short distance to the Sabi Sand private wildlife reserve. This vast private reserve borders Kruger Park. There are no fences between Kruger and Sabi Sand so the animals move freely between the two areas. Check in at Arathusa Lodge: this is cosy and relaxed camp superbly located on a large waterhole. After a late lunch, set off on your first safari drive in open 4x4 vehicles, accompanied by a qualified game ranger. Stop for ‘sundowner’ drinks admiring the silence of the ‘bush’, and continue the drive after dark using spotlights to see some of the shy nocturnal creatures. Return to the lodge for a delicious dinner.
Dinner and overnight: Arathusa Safari Lodge. (4*) (B,L,D)

Day 5 & 6
As this is a private reserve, you will not encounter private cars (as is the case in the Kruger National Park). Each day, you will be taken on two safari drives; one starting just before sunrise and continuing for approximately 3 – 4 hours; the other starting late afternoon and continuing after dark when spotlights will be used to spot some of the shy, nocturnal animals and birds. You will be accompanied by an expert game ranger who will explain the sightings, as well as the interactions between all living things in the African bush. In the middle of the day, you can join your ranger on a bush walk, or sleep; relax by the pool or bird-watch from the comfort of your private terrace. At this lodge, all meals are included, as well as all safari activities.
Dinner and overnight: Arathusa Safari Lodge. (4*) (B,L,D)

Day 7
Your last morning game drive, followed by breakfast. Check out and head back to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport OR Johannesburg. Hand back your rental car prior to flight departure. (B)
