MONDAY: BEIRUT
Arrive Beirut, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: Beirut.

TUESDAY: BEIRUT
Half day tour of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The war- ruined city centre is being reconstructed under a 25-year project that envisages a new modern city that will also retain its familiar oriental flavour. Visit the National Museum, opened in 1942 to house Lebanon’s archaeological treasures and the city centre with its ancient sites and finds.

WEDNESDAY: BEIRUT – NAHR EL KELB - JEITA – HARISSA - BEIRUT
Half day tour: visit the Stellas of Nahr el Kelb which date back to the period of Ramesses II. Continue to the famous grottos of Jeita, a mysterious network of 9kms of underground caves and a veritable treasure trove of stalactites and stalagmites (with the biggest one in the world: 8.2m), sculpted only by the magic hands of nature. Proceed to Harissa, the statue of Our Lady of Lebanon with her arms outspread over Jounieh Bay is one of the country’s most renowned manmade landmarks. Ascend the 600m high mountain perch by cable car and enjoy a panoramic view. Overnight: Beirut (B)

THURSDAY: BEIRUT - BEKAA VALLEY – BAALBEK - BEIRUT
Full day tour: in the Bekaa valley, the magnificent landscape opens up the ancient city of Baalbeck. Baalbeck’s awe-inspiring temples and city ruins are among the largest and finest examples of Roman architecture in the world. Explore the wonders of this ancient city – from the grandeur of the columned temples to the intricately carved stonework and the sheer size of the stones used to construct the temples. See the Temples of Jupiter, Bacchus and Venus. Drive to Ksara Caves for some wine tasting. Built during the Roman period and covered by sand for centuries, the Ksara caves were found by accident. It is now the home of the well known Ksara wine where thousands of the old wine bottles are preserved.
