Itinerary:
DAY 1: AMMAN - PETRA
Arrive Amman; travel south toward the amazing rock city of Petra.
Overnight: Petra (D)
DAY 2: PETRA
Walk through the Siq, an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone, to the vast unique city of Petra, carved into the sheer rose-red rock face by the Nabateans. The Treasury (El Khazneh) is one of the most elegant remains of antiquity. Used in the final sequence of the movie “Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade”, the towering facade of the Treasury is only one of a myriad of archaeological wonders to be explored at Petra.
Overnight: Petra (BD)
DAY 3: PETRA - MT. NEBO - MADABA - AMMAN
Depart for Mt. Nebo, the site where Moses died, and enjoy the panoramic view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Continue to the town of Madaba, the biblical Medeba. Madaba is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. View the famous 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Church of St. George. Return to Amman.
