Israel has been a tourism destination for over two thousand
years. When travelling the length of the country one can enjoy
the geological sites and splendours ancient Israel has to offer.
Jerusalem, Israel's capital has stood at the centre of the Jewish
people’s national and spiritual life since King David
made it the capital of his kingdom some 3000 years ago. Today
it is a flourishing, vibrant metropolis, the seat of the government
and Israel’s largest city. Today you can hear the glanging
of bells from Christian churches and the prayers from Jews before
the Western Wall. Many new hotels have been built, and many
older hotels were extensively renovated and expanded.
Tel Aviv is today the center of the country’s industrial,
commercial, financial and cultural life and is the first Jewish
city in modern times.
Israel has so much great variety to offer the visitor. Fertile
valleys, arid and desolate regions of desert, sparkling lakes
and sea side resorts. The hustle and bustle of towns and noisy
locals markets makes a subtle contrast to the sanctity of holy
places. Each community and town retains its special arts, religion,
dress and costumes, proudly keeping Israel’s traditions
alive.
