Itinerary:
DAY 1: CAIRO
Arrive Cairo, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: Cairo
DAY 2: CAIRO – MEMPHIS – SAKKARA - CAIRO
Full day tour: visit Memphis, the home to a colossal Statue of Ramesses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. Continue to the “Cemetery City” of Sakkara and view the Step Pyramid of King Zoser, the oldest of all the Pyramids. Tour the Great Pyramids of Giza and see the mystical Sphinx.

DAY 3: CAIRO
Morning tour of the Egyptian Museum with the Tut-Ankh-Amun treasures. Afternoon at leisure. Evening Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids.

DAY 4: CAIRO
A morning tour in Old Cairo: visit the Hanging Church and the Church of the Holy Family. Continue to the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the legendary site where the Pharaoh’s daughter found Moses amongst the bulrushes. Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 5: CAIRO – ABU SIMBEL - ASWAN
Transfer to Cairo Airport for flight (cost of flight not included) to Abu Simbel via Aswan. The Abu Simbel Temples were cut from the rock and shifted to higher ground as the waters of Lake Nasser began to rise following the completion of the Aswan High Dam. Return flight to Aswan (cost of flight not included). Transfer to hotel in Aswan.

DAY 6: ASWAN
Explore Aswan on your own. The beautiful Nile-side setting of Aswan offers serenity. Optional tours available, we suggest a tour of the Nubian Museum.

DAY 7: ASWAN
Transfer to your Nile Cruiser. Enjoy an afternoon Felucca ride on the Nile; view the Botanic Gardens on Kitchener’s Island, the Elephantine Island, and Aga Khan’s Mausoleum (view only, no visit). Overnight: Nile Cruiser (BLD)
DAY 8: ASWAN – KOM OMBO
Visit the High Dam, a huge rock-fill dam, which captures the world’s longest river. Travel by motorboat to Agilika Island and visit the reassembled Philae Temple dedicated to the goddess Isis. Cruise to Kom Ombo; visit the Temple of Sobek and Haroeris.

DAY 9: EDFU – ESNA - LUXOR
Take a horse-drawn carriage through Edfu to the famous and best-preserved ancient Greek-built temple, Horus Temple. Cruise to Esna and later to Luxor.

DAY 10: LUXOR
Drive to the West Bank, visit Thebes Necropolis and the Valley of the Kings where very few of the rock-cut tombs escaped grave robbers. At Deir al-Bahri, the Temple of Hatshepsut was built for the only woman who ruled Egypt. See the Colossi of Memnon. Afternoon visit to the Karnak Temple, a complex dedicated to Amun Ra and the Luxor Temple discovered beneath the shifting desert sands.

DAY 11: LUXOR
Disembark in Luxor, transfer to hotel.

DAY 12: LUXOR
Explore Luxor, one of the world’s greatest open-air museums. Optional tours available, we suggest a hot-air balloon excursion over the ruins of Thebes.
